Interactive Objects and NorCom AG are leading the
way in the area of standardization. As a subset of Model Driven
Architecture (MDA), Model Driven Security is a highly relevant issue
which the two companies are focusing on with their leading ArcStyler
and NGS BeanGuard products.
Freiburg, April 18, 2002.
The need for secure Internet applications is a highly relevant issue
right now. A research project - the ArcSecure Vernet project - is
currently working on applying the MDA approach to security (Model
Driven Security). Model Driven Security allows security requirements
to be modeled and flexible code generated for different security
infrastructures. In particular, it is possible to integrate security
infrastructure products such as NorCom's NGS BeanGuard, which offers
security functions going beyond the J2EE standard.
In this connection, Interactive Objects offers ArcStyler, the first
100% MDA compatible software development environment, which has
already garnered numerous international awards in recognition of
its innovative and revolutionary approach.
NorCom has in NGS BeanGuard a security tool ensuring homogeneous
and transparent security architecture via an all-in approach. Using
NGS BeanGuard's security engine, authentication, authorization,
auditing and administration can be implemented on a cross-platform
and cross-application basis.
Whereas ArcStyler offers a superb platform for developing high-quality
J2EE applications, NGS BeanGuard provides a special mechanism for
describing EJB resources, e.g. allowing instance-based access control.
This gives the user a tool permitting swift and high-quality development
of applications capable of being ported on the one hand and covering
all security-related aspects on the other. This approach is so far
unrivaled in the marketplace.
